THE LONG VIEW

A Digest for Supervisors & Salaried Employees
(Formerly the Supervisor Digest)
February 16, 2022

Dear Fellow Employees,

Welcome to the newly-renamed newsletter, The Long View! Formerly known as the Supervisor Digest, this new name is courtesy of the thoughtful Worth Sanders. The new name epitomizes what the digest strives to do-- serve and inform leaders, supervisors and salaried employees in ways that will help you grow and take yourself and your employees farther.

In this week's email, we've got a lot of news-- from the multifactor authentication (MFA) roll out coming to all employees Feb. 23 to information on how to use the engagement survey data to the links to apply for a sustainability board position.

Happy Reading!

Susan Harig
Director of Engagement & Development, Human Resources

REMINDER: You must be logged into the portal FIRST before below links will work.

MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION IS HERE!

Over 1,200 ASC employees have already enrolled in MFA -- now we need to enroll EVERYONE else, including front line staff, even if they are seasonal. All employees need to complete this short process for their online protection. The employee portal will be rolled over to MFA on February 23. All employees will receive an email with instructions on Feb. 22 and again on Feb. 23 after it rolls over. (Employees who have already enrolled in MFA can ignore this). After this date, the portal will not be accessible until an employee enrolls in MFA. Kronos, Empyrean, and Smart Recruiters will roll over later this spring as well.

Please help ensure your employees enroll. You can find a fact sheet, enrollment instructions, and how-to videos here. If you have Spanish speakers, they will need your assistance. This process is not available in Spanish at this time. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Duane Monroe at [email protected]. Duane is also willing to do a demo at your next employee meeting. If your employees have challenges, our IT Support folks are standing by and happy to help. Hours are 8am-5pm.

• Hotel Help Desk: [email protected], 970-920-6396

*Please note if your employee has not logged into the portal since the new portal came online in November, they must first go to Kronos and change their password. These instructions are also on the page linked to above.

75TH ANNIVERSARY

LMS (LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM)

Our online LMS system will debut March 1. An LMS is an on online platform (for both PC and mobile) used to house, organize, track, and deliver learning opportunities to our employees. This year, the system will include learning opportunities ranging from leadership classes to diversity, bias, and compliance training to skill-based professional development courses. Next year, we hope to have nearly all mandatory training for employees housed in this system along with optional growth and learning opportunities. If you've got ideas for trainings you'll need next winter or "soft skills" trainings your staff could use right now, contact our new training manager Paul Bowman at [email protected].

YOUR STAFF IS OUR STAFF TOO!

Encourage a sense of collegiality among employees. If you see someone in uniform, say hello, nod, acknowledge their presence. We’re all in this together! Encourage your employees to do the same. Check in on one another, regardless of where they work. It could make someone's day, including new frontline workers.
