THE LONG VIEW

A Digest for Supervisors & Salaried Employees
(Formerly the Supervisor Digest)
March 2, 2022

Dear Fellow Employees,

Happy March! We've got some quick updates for you below. With the approach of the end of the season, readership of the employee newsletter is dwindling. We're not reaching as many employees as we used to. There's still important information to communicate both there and on the employee portal, so please be sure you're reminding employees to check their email, enroll in MFA, and also pass on important information to them in meetings as a critical secondary measure. Fifty-eight percent (2,313) of our employees have not yet enrolled in Multifactor Authentication, meaning they can no longer access the employee portal, our company's home base for all ASC information.

Research tells us that "if workers feel like they belong, companies reap substantial bottom-line benefits. High belonging was linked to a whopping 56% increase in job performance, a 50% drop in turnover risk, and a 75% reduction in sick days." Extrapolating from this article, for a 4,000-person company, this would result in annual savings of more than $21M. Research also suggests that 46% of employees feel less connected to their company than before the pandemic. There is work to be done!

Reach out to us with suggestions on improvements for how to increase the employee sense of belonging and also improve communications. They go hand-in-hand and we appreciate your feedback.

Susan Harig
Director of Engagement & Development, Human Resources

REMINDER: You must be logged into the portal FIRST before below links will work.

If you'd like to know who in your department has not enrolled, email [email protected]. Brand Patching Service Returns!
Amanda McNally is putting together a staggered brand patching service schedule so that employees can update up to 3 items of clothing with our new logo and patches. Buttermilk, Highlands, and Riverside will go first. Look out for an email from her and be sure to share this opportunity with your employees.

THE BULLWHEEL (LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) IS NOW OPEN

Our new online LMS system, The BullWheel, has debuted with a "soft opening." Employees can log in using their employee portal username and password to The BullWheel. Currently there are leadership, DEI, professional development, and skills classes that employees can sample. This is completely voluntary and unpaid at this time. Ski pros will not be paid for these trainings and it doesn't count towards non-paid training. By next fall, we hope to have nearly all mandatory training for employees housed in this system as well as optional growth and learning opportunities. If you've got feedback, ideas for trainings or "soft skills" trainings your staff could use right now, contact Revenue Center Training Manager Paul Bowman [email protected] or Guest Services Manager Katriona Hembury at [email protected].
