What is Total Rewards Wellness?

The purpose of our Total Rewards Wellness Program is to provide an integrated program promoting lifestyle choices aimed at supporting the physical and mental health of employees.

Our goals are to:
• Promote a healthy mind, body and spirit in work, life and play
• Provide wellness information, resources and opportunities
• Encourage participation

What Total Rewards Wellness Offers:

TOTAL REWARDS WELLNESS CLASS. YOGALATES! Get through the mid-week slump with a lunchtime Yogalates break from the comfort of your own office! The class will take place online Wednesdays from 12-12:45pm starting March 6. This class combines the ideals of core strengthening, flexibility, proper breathing and meditation, which are the cornerstone of both traditional Yoga and Pilates. This workout is sure to improve your body, mind, and spirit leaving you refreshed and ready to finish the week strong. Great for all levels! Please note- No equipment is required but we will by lying on the floor. Comfortable clothes and a mat or towel to lay on are recommended. The link to the online class is here.

 

Whether you simply want to lose fat, gain muscle or be healthy – or you want to work on a specific sport or combination of goals, the Total Rewards Wellness Manager can help tailor your workouts to accommodate. Alisa Owens will work with you to find an appropriate training volume, intensity, and frequency, and will select efficient exercises and progressions. All of your nutrition targets will be tailored to your specific goals and body. The nutrition requirements of gaining muscle, improving health, or optimizing athletic performance are all very different. Alisa can recommend both macro and micronutrient targets accordingly. Free. Health Coaching is motivational, inspiring, positive, exciting and action-driven. Health coaching helps you look at where you are now and where you’d like to be, and helps you bridge the gap. By raising awareness and encouraging you to take responsibility for your health, health coaching can help you rise to your own particular challenge and go further than you ever thought possible! FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness. The Wellness Coordinator, Alisa Owens, is level 2 FMS certified and has experience administering the screen as well as recommending corrective actions to improve scoring. She offers appointments throughout the season for employees to be screened as well as to practice corrective actions to improve their FMS score. Free. Contact: [email protected]

  • Mobility and Movement | Sundays 3-4pm. This class emphasizes functional movements that will translate to real-life activities, promoting both physical fitness and better movement patterns. Mobility and Movement is a class for all fitness levels designed to help you move efficiently, reduce stiffness, and enhance your overall mobility. Come with an open mind and get ready to explore the benefits of a dedicated Mobility and Movement practice!

  • HIIT | Tuesdays 7:15am. This total-body workout combines cardio and body weight moves with modalities like TRX straps, BOSU, medicine/exercise balls etc. You’ll rotate through multiple classic HIIT moves as well as combined variations of exercises that target your legs, glutes, core and upper body. Together, this will help you feel fitter, fast!   • BODY PUMP | 5:30 pm Wednesday. Come join TAC Fitness for a free Body Pump class for ASC Employees! Are you looking for a strong toned fit body without building bulk? Body Pump can deliver the results you are looking for and transform your body using the rep effect. With 800 repetitions on an average workout you’ll be lean, strong and unstoppable! About our Trainers

Elle Stark, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT was born and raised in Aspen, CO. During undergraduate and graduate school she taught skiing for Aspen Skiing Company, volunteered with the Paralympic Alpine Ski team, and coached Crossfit, accumulating years of study in athletic development, movement analysis and fitness programming. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of Connecticut. Elle returned to Colorado that same year and has been working with a strong emphasis in orthopedics since then, completing a Fellowship in orthopaedic manual therapy in 2022 through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. In 2023 she became a board certified orthopaedic clinical specialist. Elle is a full-time clinician at Aspen Valley Hospital where she runs the ACL return-to-sport program, and helps manage the screening program with Aspen Skiing Company.

 

Joe Kagan PT, DPT, CSCS is a Physical Therapist at Aspen Valley Hospital and a ski instructor at Snowmass in the 7-17 division. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Joe has taught for Snowmass and Aspen Highlands since 2015, and is a current trainer with the Aspen Academy. Joe is a full-time clinician at Aspen Valley Hospital treating orthopaedic and neurological conditions and is a member of the brain injury specialist team. He serves on the Education Staff for PSIA Rocky Mountain and Central regions as an Alpine Examiner. He is passionate about helping the active community in Aspen return to the activities they love and helping instructors work towards their certification goals.

Alisa is excited to officially be joining our team as the new Corporate Wellness Manager for the Total Rewards program. She previously worked under The Steadman Clinic and has run the ASC-MBS Program for over 9 years. She has a BS in Health and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey and a MS in Nutrition and Public Health from Columbia University. In addition, Alisa has many other certifications such as her level 2 FMS, CSCS for Personal Training, Health Coaching, Life Coaching, Yoga, Pilates, Pronatal for Pre and Postnatal Fitness and much more. She is excited to be using her extensive nutrition and exercise background to help employees reach their personal health and fitness goals.
