She joined the PR team two years ago and has quickly taken on more responsibilities and grown in her role.  In addition to working with domestic media, Lolli oversees our Latin American strategies and manages PR firms in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina (plus additional LATAM countries). She also runs point on our ArtUP work. Many of you work with Lolli across the company, and I know you join me in recognizing her work ethic, her kindness and her devotion to our core values. APRIL 2023

Brendan Collins

Brendan started with us in 2012 and has impacted every event we’ve produced over the last eleven years. He has managed the Aspen Snowmass Open, Junior Freeride, NASTAR Nationals and other ski and bike races, The Meeting and NEPSA Awards. His passion and creativity were on display in Snowmass through the Luminescence interactive art experience, inspired from his dreams of returning to Burning Man during Covid. His dedication to staff, volunteers and guests is evident in his work on the X Games Guest Service program and critical to the execution of all of our World Cup efforts. When he is not burning the midnight oil in the office he can be found rafting rivers around the world, riding his mountain bike or dancing to his own beats.

Daragh joined the team in 2014 and has played a key role for the events team.  His passion for music and experience with endurance events has taken many events to the next level. He’s managed most events on our calendar, carried a heavy load (literally and figuratively) on all aspects of X Games, oversees Wagner programming during World Cup and is responsible for growing Power of Four SkiMo into North America’s largest race. His understanding of the music industry evolved our concert offerings across the mountains and elevated our Hi Fi concerts to include Nathaniel Rateliff and Mt. Joy.  Daragh’s understanding of construction, transportation and logistics is critical to the execution of all events. When he is not switching seamlessly between the office and operating machinery he enjoys skiing, traveling the world and is always up for a good laugh with friends around town.

Kirstin Klein is the new manager of the ASC Wardrobe Department. Kirstin has been with ASC in Global Sales since 2021. Prior to her time with ASC she worked with the City of Aspen and Obermeyer. In her role at Obermeyer she managed the company’s supplier and manufacturing partners. She brings a wealth of knowledge in development and production of outwear to support ASC as we continue to refine and improve our on-mountain pieces. Kirstin was the special events permits coordinator at the City of Aspen giving her the experience to continue Jennifer’s legacy of running a tight ship. Kirstin has been in Aspen for over thirty years and she was part of the team to work at the original Ritz-Carlton in town. She raised her son here and now he  is in his second year at CU in Boulder (he spends his college breaks as a pro at Buttermilk). While this move is a big impact to the number of double K’s working in Global Sales, it is an exciting move for our wardrobe team. Kirstin will start her new role on May 1st and will work with Jennifer through the month of May to assure that there is a smooth transition in leadership.

MARCH 2023

Connor Hayes

Connor Hayes oversees the operations of the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, Tubing Hill, Ullr Nights, and Après Activities for Aspen Skiing Company.  Born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley, Connor found his passion for snowboarding at a young age. Growing up riding at Snowmass sparked his interest in working in the ski industry.

His love for Snowmass and the community has inspired him to lend a helping hand and ensure visitors feel the same way when they are here.  He’s spent the past four winters on the hill in the Guest Services department and one summer zipping through the trees in the Lost Forest.

When he is not at work he is enjoying the mountains he’s from, either snowboarding, biking, or fly fishing with his girlfriend and dog.  Connor is happy to call Snowmass and ASC his home and is excited for the years to come.

Sandra Dykes

Limelight Snowmass’ GM Sandra Dykes is transferring to the Limelight Hotel Denver to assist with the transition in the position of Hotel Manager. Sandra will support Keith Siebenaler, the General Manager, whom we have retained from the Born Hotel. She will be a great Limelight ambassador to the Denver team as we introduce our culture, our approach to community and our passion for living fully.  Sandra joined Aspen Hospitality in 2018 as Director of Operations for Limelight Aspen, she later held the position of Hotel Manager there and was promoted to General Manager for Limelight Snowmass last summer.  Prior to joining Limelight, Sandra held many high level food and beverage positions with Ritz Carlton (Las Vegas, Laguna and Rancho Mirage), and the Tao Group (Las Vegas).  Sandra will relocate to Denver and begin with the Limelight Hotel Denver on May 1.

Congratulations to Olivia Klein, who is stepping into a new role as Production & Community Manager at Aspen Snowmass. Olivia joined ASC in 2021 as the Social Media & Community Manager and has overdelivered since day one. She’s been the brand voice and persona of all our social media platforms, bringing a strategic mind to every creative project and developing strong partnerships along the way.  Her positive attitude, growing skillset and relationships within both the company and community make her a perfect fit to take over creative production. In her new role, Olivia will run marketing’s photo program, oversee all asset capture and management, and maintain strategic oversight of our social channels.

Mera Heckrodt

Mera Heckrodt is the new Digital Marketing Manager for Limelight Hotels. Mera has spent the last 10 months as the catch-all Marketing Coordinator for the Limelight Hotels. Her marked interest and cultivated expertise with all things digital during that time has set her up well to take on this new position. Mera grew up in Boulder, and so is a rare & committed Colorado local. She attended & excelled at Denver University, after which she worked in marketing at Two Leaves & A Bud in Basalt. She lives in Basalt with her boyfriend, Chris, and is an avid reader and hiker.

Kelly Norton

Kelly Norton joins the Little Nell Marketing Team as Digital Marketing Manager. Kelly joined the company in November 2021 as Digital Marketing Manager for The Little Nell Hotel Group, where she worked on both The Little Nell and Limelight brands, and has transitioned into a new role handling digital marketing for The Little Nell. She grew up in Springfield, Virginia and studied marketing at East Carolina University. In 2015, Kelly moved to Colorado with her now husband, Travis, graduated from CSU, and started working at Ski.com as the Operations Coordinator. In 2016, she was promoted to Marketing Manager and held that role until joining Aspen Skiing Company in 2021.

Lexie

Lexie Oeth has joined The Little Nell marketing team as  Marketing Coordinator.  Lexie was most recently the Food & Beverage Office Manager at The Little Nell, and we are thrilled to bring her talents to the marketing team. She grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and studied media & communications at FSU. Lexie moved to Aspen in May 2019 and worked at Ajax Tavern as a hostess, back server, and front server. She traded in serving plates for sending emails and started working as the Food & Beverage Coordinator in 2020, and was promoted to Food & Beverage Office Manager in 2021. Lexie lives in Aspen with her fiancé, Nick, and dog, Midas.

Addie Germain

Addie Germain is the newest and most “germane” addition to the purchasing and sustainability teams. Addie is a former (recovering?) Buttermilk ski pro and an expert on salmon migration patterns in Kitsap County. She studied Environmental Studies and Anthropology at CU Boulder before joining a water stewardship team in western Washington. And for six months last year, she lived on a sailboat in the Caribbean (hard life, we know). For purchasing, she’ll do vendor management, help with the vehicle fleet, and approve online purchases. (That means if you’re buying bulk Cheez Wiz and Ritz crackers on your company card, she will eventually track you down.) For sustainability, she’ll help with corporate contributions, school ski days, and the employee foundations. She’s already uncovering RTP’s deepest secrets, even though, she notes, the dinosaur software was invented before she was born. Her desk is near the Riverside 2nd floor back door, so say hi when you’re rushing in from your dog walk or heading to the mini-kitchen to toast your morning strudel.

OCTOBER 2022

Ben McCarter has joined the Mountain Operations team in the new role of Director of Mountain Maintenance and Operations. This role will work to support in-town Maintenance for Lift and Vehicle, as well as work on operational consistency across the 4 mountains in various departments.

Ben studied at The Citadel military college in South Carolina, then made his way to Aspen to join the community and apply the leadership qualities learned there.  Ben has been with ASC for 10 years, starting out with Alex Streblow in HR at The Little Nell. He witnessed the opening of the Limelight Aspen, the transformation of Element 47, the opening of Limelight Ketchum and the start of Limelight Snowmass. Starting in 2017, Ben moved to Aspen Highlands as the Guest Service Manager in winters, and the Summer Trails manager for Buttermilk in summers. In these roles he has been able to apply what he knows from growing up on a farm, and expand his learning in operations.

Outside of work, Ben mixes it up with golf, trail running, exploring new places and paddle boarding. He is a strong snowboarder, and has enlisted our own Beth Madsen (past US team skier, admin extraordinaire at AH) to improve his skiing skills.

Mikala has stepped into the role of Acting Direction, Talent Acquisitions. She has 12 years of talent acquisition experience and 9 years of management experience. She spent time as a District Manager in the retail space and as a talent acquisition professional within the healthcare space. Mikala’s strengths are in communication, full life-cycle recruiting and creating talent acquisition strategies for the business through partnerships. Mikala has been successful in creating and executing a staffing strategy for Mountain Dining, ASPENX & Parent Company here at Aspen Skiing Company. Mikala thrives in team building, the employee experience, inclusion and retention. She has a passion for being kind to others, snowboarding, abstract art, animal welfare, traveling, photography and spending time with her Goldendoodle, Snokamo.

Tanya Milleli has been promoted to Talent Acquisition Program Manager. She’s been in the ski industry in a variety of capacities since 2002, working across multiple departments and countries. She joined ASC in 2013 as a Ski Pro at Aspen Highlands and later spent time as a Coordinator in the Snowmass Children’s 7-17 division. Tanya currently spends the winter months working as the New Hire Lead Trainer for the Ski & Snowboard School, and as a member of the PSIA Rocky Mountain Education Staff. Prior to joining ASC, Tanya spent four years in evolving roles with the American Red Cross specializing in emergency planning and disaster response. She has extensive experience developing and implementing programs, managing operations, and building strategic capacity. Tanya’s path has been anything but traditional, but the unconventional combination of experiences has given her a unique perspective on leadership, business growth, and sustainability.

Clara Bicher has been promoted to Sales Operations Analyst for the Rental/Retail department. Clara started with ASC in 2016, working for Four Mountain Sports before moving into an admin position for Rental Retail in 2020. Olga grew up just outside of Boston and attended Brandeis University where she studied Economics and Psychology. After graduating in 1999, Olga moved to the Roaring Fork Valley where she worked as a ski pro in Snowmass, as a member of the 6 & under team. Fun fact- when Olga moved to the valley she lived on the backside of Aspen Mountain, but didn’t own a car! In 2006, Olga accepted a position on the S3 management team as the Private Lesson Coordinator at Aspen Highlands. In 2018 she transitioned to a role as the On-Snow Coordinator for the Aspen Mountain Ski School where she has thrived working with guests, ski and snowboard school staff, as well as the greater Aspen Mountain operations teams. Olga is known for her friendly and engaging personality, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to unite a team. Olga’s responsibilities will include leadership/management of the Aspen Mountain Ski & Snowboard School, oversight and support for the Aspen Highlands school, and working with the four mountain Ski and Snowboard School senior leadership team. Olga will start at Aspen Mountain on September 1.

Colton has been promoted to General Manager of Element 47. Colton most recently was the Bar Manager of Element 47 here at The Little Nell.  Colton’s exuberance for hospitality is evident to all who have met him.  He is passionate about wine, spirits, cocktails and all things hospitality and guest service related. Prior to his time at The Little Nell Colton opened and ran his own catering business in addition to fine tuning  his skills in wine, service and mixology at a variety of excellent establishments in both Nashville and NYC.

Nick Mancy has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Ajax Tavern! Nick spent the last 10 months as a front server at Ajax Tavern. Nick has restaurants and hospitality in his blood, being raised in a restaurant family – The Mancy Restaurant Group, and he’s from the Toledo, OH area.

Kristen Harrison has been hired as the new Chef de Cuisine for Elk Camp Restaurant. Kristen grew up just outside of Detroit, MI, and graduated from the culinary program at Monroe Community college in 2012. Right after graduation she started looking for seasonal jobs to feed her desire to grow as a chef but also to travel. Her first seasonal job was in Yellowstone National Park at Old Faithful Inn. That summer she fell into a deeper love for the outdoors and continued to work seasonally for the next 8 years around the US and other parts of the world. Then she found Aspen, fell in love with the abundance of activities in the area and has been here ever since. She started with ASC as a Sous Chef at High Alpine for the 20-21 winter season and is very excited to take on her new position and work with such a fabulous team. In her free time she enjoys whitewater rafting, paddleboarding, hiking, scuba diving and several other outdoor activities.

AUGUST 2022

Andy Docken has been promoted to S3 Director of Operations. For the past two years, Andy has been the GM of Snowmass. Andy began his career with ASC in 1995 as a lift operator. Since then, he has held the roles of Snowmass S3 GM, Aspen Mountain S3 GM, Aspen Highlands S3 Manager and Director of Training, just to name a few. He has also been a member of the PSIA-AASI National Alpine Team, a PSIA-RM examiner and has served on the PSIA-AASI-RM Board of Directors. In his free time Andy enjoys adventuring with his beautiful girlfriend Lissa.

This includes the Mountain Sales Call Center, Group & Tour Services, and the S3 Global Sales and Reservations office. Since 2008, she has led the Group & Tour Services as Manger, Assistant Director, and most recently Director. Antonella will report to Jonathan Ballou in this role.

She will also work closely with Kasey Locsin and Elli McKinley, ASC’s two Product Administration Managers, to lead product administration for the company. Wing has been with ASC since 2006, holding leadership roles throughout the Product, Sales & Services department. Wing will report to Jonathan Ballou in this role.

Susan Harig has been promoted to Managing Director of Engagement and Development.  Susan joined ASC in April of 2015.  Prior to coming to ASC Susan held a variety of positions from teaching Junior High School in Costa Rica to working in prisons and later in the hospitality and gaming industry in Las Vegas before moving to the valley. Susan made a real splash at her inaugural MIM meeting when she likened Don Schuster’s (then head of our hospitality division) approach to hotel acquisition and development to that of a “drunken sailor at a garage sale.”  Susan began her career at ASC as a department of one, but after several years and due to a very helpful and collaborative style, she now has a department of five, providing support on a company-wide basis in all areas of training, engagement and development.  Susan is also very involved in the community and was recently appointed Board President of Roaring Fork Leadership.

Andrew Joy has been promoted to Director of Safety and Workers Compensation.  Andrew joined us in January of 2017 as Manager, Workers Compensation for ASC.  When Jim Laing interviewed Andrew over 5 years ago one of the questions he was asked was – what are you proud of?  Andrew’s first response was that he was proud of the fact that he had skied 60+ days the prior season despite living in the city back east.  He was hired!  Fortunately, Andrew also had great experience and a successful career in the insurance and underwriting world so he was a great match for us on many levels.  Since moving to the valley Andrew has fully embraced our lifestyle; among other things, he has competed in the Power of Four Skimo Race and most recently he competed in the Power of Two Trail Running Race.  In the winter you will likely see Andrew out on one of our mountains most days, but if you’ve skied with Andrew you mostly likely have seen him from behind – he’s an awesome telemark skier and certainly doesn’t waste any time getting down the hill.

Alex Kendrick has been promoted to oversee the Buttermilk Sales & Reservations and Private Lesson teams.  Alex joined the Aspen Snowmass Ski & Snowboard School 26 years ago as a Ski Pro at Buttermilk. Alex was based at Snowmass and Aspen while she taught skiing.  Twelve years ago, Alex joined the Buttermilk management team. She has been serving as Private Lesson Senior Coordinator for the past five years. Alex will report to John Kneiper in this role.

Katriona’s plan to head back home to Britain after her 18 month J1 Visa ended got a little de-railed.  Now a 22-year ASC employee, Katriona spent a lot of her time in The Little Nell, logging over 20 job codes between Food & Beverage and Rooms Division.  After managing teams in the restaurant, events, and front of house, she become a guru in guest service, ultimately finding her true passion in the world of Learning and Development. In 2021 she moved to the Parent Company and the Engagement and Development Team.  Focusing on Service, Communication, Leadership and Team Building, Katriona is now focused on creating supportive, personalized learning and development opportunities for our talented ASC team.  A slightly risk-averse skier who was overtaken by her mountain-born kids by the time one of them was just seven, she spends her free time outdoors, skiing, hiking, camping and exploring with her family as well as in supporting various local arts and community organizations.

Accordion Content

Allison joined ASC in the fall of 2021 and helped rebrand and rebuilding the employee portal. Allison wears many hats on behalf of our employees, ranging from corralling and dispersing internal news to maintaining the portal to finding ways to improve communications and the employee experience. When not quietly correcting grammatical mistakes, she strives to streamline and clarify processes. Allison has worked in communications since 2005 when she served as Director of Public Relations for the Town of Snowmass Village’s tourism board. She learned to ski in second grade in Sterling Forest, New York, although is currently sidelined from the slopes with a bum ankle.  When not working, she enjoys being outside in the mountains on mushroom hunts and hikes or at home with her edible garden, chickens (Darth, Vader, and the idiots), two cats and husband.

Ben started with ASC in the Highlands ticket office during the 17/18 season, and has been training RTP users throughout the company since 2018. Prior to ASC, he worked in telecommunications throughout the Americas and Asia. He learned to ski as an adult, when he was taught “in the Finnish way” by a friend in Japan. That approach to training was best summarized as “we go to the top and then we come down”, and has inspired him to explore more thoughtful methods in his own trainings. Somehow it stuck, though, and now he enjoys skiing uphill almost as much as down. He loves live music of all sorts, and enjoys tinkering with vacuum tube amplifiers and analog sound gear.  Ben reports to Paul Bowman, Revenue Center Training Manager and his main area of focus will be training RTP users across the company, when he is not of course, schooling me in ways to use SharePoint, Teams, and all other company sponsored tech.

Born and raised in the bourbon capital of the world, Annie made her way to Aspen upon graduation from The University of Alabama. Annie has been working with the Aspen Skiing Company on and off for 30 years, most recently as a Snowmass Ski School Coordinator. In her time outside of work, Annie enjoys skiing, mountain biking, gardening, trail running, paddle boarding, following Alabama football and “taxiing” her children up and down the valley.

Emily joined The Little Nell events team in December 2018 as Event Manager, transitioned to Event Sales Manager in March 2020, and accepted her role as Director of Events in August 2022. She lives in Snowmass, CO with her husband, Matthew Hecht, and their goldendoodle puppy, Luna. She loves producing world-class weddings on top of Aspen Mountain. In her spare time, you can find her downhill skiing and river rafting or planning the next off-season adventure.

Over the years she deftly transitioned the company into digital marketing, developing and leading the team responsible for optimizing the company’s digital and product marketing strategies. Peter has worked for ASC since 2009, serving as Financial Analyst, Financial Manager, Director of Business Development and most recently as Managing Director of Strategic Planning. He has proven his aptitude for working across departments and operationalizing strategy. Peter will continue to report to Matt Jones.

Jonathan Ballou’s new position will oversee both ski school and product sales and service. The position has been created to provide a more cohesive guest experience, identify and realize operational efficiencies, and increase ski school capture rates. Jonathan has been a pivotal part of the ski school since 1999, working as a Ski Instructor, Training Manager, Training Director, Director of Ops and most recently as the Managing Director. With these two departments joining together to combine forces towards an enhanced guest experience, keep an eye out for additional position postings and promotional announcements from Jonathan. In his new position, Jonathan will continue to report to John Rigney.

Henning Rahm is switching over from Regional GM of the Snowmass and Aspen Limelights to become GM of the Little Nell Hotel. Henning has played a critical role at Limelight Aspen since 2011 and has been instrumental in making that property the community’s living room, driving guest loyalty, employee engagement and strong financial performance. Under his leadership, the Limelight Aspen won the Business of the Year Award from the local chamber in 2018.

Wendy Walters has been promoted to Human Resources manager. Wendy got her start at ASC at The Little Nell in 2017 as a seasonal Mini Bar Attendant over her college summer season at Colorado Mesa University. Upon graduating with her degree in Human Resources, she returned as a Front Desk Agent as part of the opening team for Limelight Snowmass. Soon afterwards, she moved to Human Resources as HR Coordinator and then moved into Talent Acquisition for 3 years, where she eventually grew to lead the TACO team. She is now elated at the opportunity to put her knowledge to the test as our newest HR Manager! To balance it all, Wendy sets herself free by backpacking, thru-hiking, skiing, climbing, rafting, or playing her ukulele with a local group in Carbondale: The Crystal River Ukuladies.

Kaitlin has been with ASC for 4 years, starting out as Digital Marketing Manager then serving most recently as Senior Manager, Growth Marketing. Prior to ASC Kaitlin honed her digital skills at Bluetent and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She has been instrumental to the completion of key digital projects, like the SAS migration to AspenSnowmass.com and AspenSnowmass.com redesign last season, as well as elevating our paid media and experimentation strategies. KP loves to spend her summers camping and “enjoying” type 2 fun in the mountains through trail running and mountain biking. In the winter, you can find her on the Bowl or enjoying uphill laps on Tiehack.

Amanda McNally has been promoted to Executive Assistant & Program Manager. Amanda has been working for the Aspen Skiing Company since November of 2017, beginning her time here in the Rental/Retail department. You can find Amanda cruising blue runs in the winter and hiking and horseback riding in the summer.

Andy Curtis has been promoted to Senior Digital Content Manager. Andy grew up in Massachusetts (Go Sox) and then moved to Virginia to study Latin and Media Communications at Radford University. Lucky for us he was sent to Aspen through an internship program, barely escaping a rural broadcast TV job for WGBH Roanoke. He arrived just in time for the legendary 07-08 winter season! Since then, Andy has bounced around a few marketing and video production jobs in Aspen, finally joining ASC in the Summer of 2017. Andy works tremendously hard on elevating our video content and we’ve come a long way under his tenure. He will continue to use his expertise to further develop a video content strategy with Joel Lee to amplify video content across our channels.
