Aspen Skiing Company’s Risk Management Boards gather every two weeks, alternating between Mountain Operations and Hospitality groups. Our goal is to identify trends in employee and guest injuries and craft messaging, resources, policies, and ideas to influence outcomes and behavior change that can help keep our workforce safe and healthy all season long.
First and foremost, whenever working, we encourage you to use the STOP model:
- STOP – if something seems wrong.
- THINK- Is there a different way to perform the task?
- OPTIONS – Ask yourself, what are my options?
- POWER – Know that you have the power to make a change, ask for help, and notify your manager of your concerns.
We have just finished one of the busiest times of the year, and it’s natural for employees to feel fatigued. To avoid injury, we all have to make a special effort to not become complacent and let fatigue impact decision making. Take care of yourself, make good decisions, get plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and enjoy the recent snow.
