Employee Philanthropy (Get Involved!)

We are a leader in philanthropic efforts ranging from corporate donations to environmental initiatives to supporting veterans and our community.  Employees drive a huge part of this collective effort and are encouraged to get involved. In fact, we may be one of the few companies that allows employees to sit on philanthropic boards. Typically, board positions come available in January. Keep an eye out in the employee newsletter for announcements.  Read on for more information:

  • The Environmental Foundation is a collaboration with Aspen Community Foundation and the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund, with added support from Lavazza. This nonprofit employee organization is dedicated to protecting and preserving the regional environment. It funds projects that fight climate change, foster environmental stewardship, and promote clean energy development at a local and national policy level. The foundation is most interested in making grants to organizations that identify and work on the root causes of problems with a commitment to long-term change. Historically, 40% of employees donate and we’re pushing to move the needle to 50%. Learn More or go to these links to donate now in English and Spanish.
  • The Caring for Community Fund is funded by employees and supported by a 2 for 1 match from the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund. The fund is dedicated to serving the Roaring Fork Valley’s neediest individuals and families. It provides grants that support food access, mental health care, emergency services, affordable housing, education and skill-building programs. Ultimately, its goal is to give people the tools they need to succeed. Donors to the fund rose from 7% in its second year to 14% last year. Learn More or go to these links to donate now in English and Spanish.
  • The Limelight Ketchum has a community fund modeled after those in Aspen Snowmass. The Community Fund is a vehicle to engage the hotel’s workforce and is financed by contributions from the Limelight Hotel Ketchum’s operations, by employees through an optional paycheck deduction, and by guests through a $1-per-night donation that can be opted out of at any time. A minimum of $20,000 is contributed each fiscal year. The fund is governed by a board of the Limelight Hotel Ketchum employees, and grant recipients include specific areas of need, such as early childhood education, environment, youth development, etc. Learn more and check out their blog here.  Go to these links to donate now in English and Spanish.
